REVIEW
The Seat Ateca arrived in 2016 as the Spanish firm’s first SUV.
Closely related to the Volkswagen Tiguan, the Ateca quickly cemented itself as one of the best family crossovers, offering a terrific blend of style, efficiency, practicality and dynamics.
The range kicks off with the SE model. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, park assist and cruise control. At around £22,500, it could be all the Ateca you need.
SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, Xcellence and Xcellence Lux versions complete the range.
Pick of the engines is the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, which develops 115hp. The 150hp 1.5 petrol adds more power with only a marginal drop in fuel economy, while two diesels are also available.
Inside, the cabin is sombre but well screwed together, but the Ateca’s trump card is the amount of space it offers.
