- For: Almost everything
- Against: Honestly, we’re struggling
- Verdict: A remarkable feat of engineering
The Bentley Flying Spur is a gloriously decadent way to travel, with acres of legroom, electric window blinds, massaging armchair-style seats and a champagne cooler.
If you have access to a driver, this is the automotive equivalent of flying first class. However, with a 6.0-litre W12 engine behind that enormous grille (a V8 version arrives soon), you’ll want to do some of the driving yourself. Why not give the chauffeur the weekend off?
From the lustrous wood in its cabin to the comfort of its hand-stitched leather, the Bentley has pomp and circumstance by the bucket load.
But such luxury almost plays second fiddle to the way the Flying Spur moves. It’ll sprint to 62mph in 3.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 207mph.
With a talented driver at the wheel, we have no doubt that it could keep pace with a BMW M5. For a 2.4-tonne limousine, that’s an outstanding achievement.
