The Karoq represents the middle-ground of Skoda’s range of SUVs, sandwiched between the smaller Kamiq and larger Kodiaq.

A case of the best of both worlds? In many ways, yes, because this is one of the best compact crossovers you can buy.

Standard equipment is generous, even on the basic SE model, but most UK buyers will opt for the mid-range SE L. The Karoq is also available as a more rugged Scout, a sportier Sportline and the premium Edition.

It also gets rather expensive at the top of the range, especially if you opt for the 2.0-litre diesel, four-wheel drive and the DSG transmission.
