Is the Volvo S60 the best-looking new saloon car in the UK?
We think it might be, but it’ll take more than good looks for this executive saloon to cut it in a segment dominated by the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4.
Fortunately, Volvo knows a thing or two about minimalist and comfortable cabins, making this a fine choice for anyone who spends many hours at the wheel.
The lavish R-Design Plus is the entry-level version, while Inscription adds yet more luxury. The Polestar Engineered offers a more bespoke feel, with a performance-oriented chassis.
The T5 petrol is the default option (there are no diesels), offering 250hp and CO2 emissions of 152g/km.
Alternatively, the pricier T8 plug-in hybrid delivers 390hp and just 42g/km CO2.
The S60 is configured for comfort, making the 3 Series more suited to keen drivers. That’s not to say that the Volvo is without appeal, though – far from it.
